Site preparation

Land, power, water, septic, and what your site can actually support.

We start with the land before the home — evaluating power and utility access, water source, septic feasibility, driveway and grading, and any zoning, shoreland, or environmental flags. After that first conversation, you’ll know what your site supports. No guessing.

Budget

The home that fits you — and the real options inside it.

We match you to the home that fits your budget, then walk through the real options inside it: layouts, finishes, performance upgrades. No moving targets. No surprises during framing because something “wasn’t included.”

Scheduling

A realistic timeline. Not a sales date.

We give you a realistic build window with the milestones that matter — permitting, foundation, panel set, dry-in, finishes, occupancy. If something shifts, you hear it from us first.

Panelized delivery, helical-pier foundation, one in-house team.

Site prep, foundation, panel set, mechanicals, finishes — managed by the same NXT team from start to finish. No subcontracted construction manager. No “that’s not our scope” handoffs.

Move-in

Walk-through, punch list, keys.

We finish the home to the standard we promised. Final walk through with the team that built it, a clean punch list, and the systems orientation you actually need to live in the house.

Why NXT does not start
with a basement

Most home builds start with a basement because that’s how it’s always been done — not because it’s the right answer for the project. NXT takes a different view. We build on helical-pier foundations instead — because the math, the science, and the homeowner experience all point the same direction: No radon risk, less excavation, less below-grade risk, and a budget focused where performance actually lives — above grade.

    Site work and foundation work together account for roughly 18% of total construction costs on the average new home — one of the biggest line items after interior finishes and mechanical systems, according to NAHB's national cost survey. A helical-pier foundation needs less excavation and no poured basement, trimming a real chunk of that cost before framing even starts."Industry research suggests 30 to 40% of total home-build cost goes into site work and excavation. Removing the basement removes a meaningful share of that line.

    Radon is the second-leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. — about 21,000 deaths a year, according to the EPA — and risk is highest in a home's lowest level, which is exactly why EPA testing guidance targets basements.
